12th Fail  – Disney+ Hotstar

Directed by one of Bollywood’s talented storyteller Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ’12th Fail’ tells the inspiring story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma’s journey. Played by Vikrant Massey, the movie follows Sharma’s decision to restart his studies after failing his 12th-grade exams. It focuses on his determination to conquer the challenging UPSC exam. Inspired by the book by Anurag Pathak, the story draws from the real-life experiences of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi. The film paints a poignant picture of Sharma’s unyielding commitment and resilience as he pursues academic success in a place where countless students strive for their dreams. Kadak Singh – Zee5 

Kadak Singh, an Indian Hindi thriller directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by WIZ Films and KVN Productions, follows AK Srivastava portrayed by the versatile Pankaj Tripathi, a Financial Crimes Department officer grappling with retrograde amnesia. Despite his memory loss, Srivastava untangles a complex Chit Fund Scam by piecing together various perspectives on his identity and hospital journey. The film unfolds a gripping narrative, revealing Srivastava’s determination to crack the case by reconstructing fragmented memories, showcasing resilience and unraveling the truth behind this intricate scheme.

The Family Plan – Apple TV+

Bringing together the creative forces of Apple Studios, Skydance Media, and Mark Wahlberg’s Municipal Pictures, The Family Plan stars Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan and others emerges as a 2023 American action comedy. Directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by David Coggeshall the movie quickly garnered massive attention, swiftly claiming the title of the Apple TV’s most-watched movie ever, as announced by Deadline. This success underscores the film’s engaging storyline and its seamless blend of action and humour, captivating audiences worldwide.

Dono (December 29) – Zee5

Starring Rajveer Deol, the younger son of Sunny Deol and Paloma Dhillon daughter of Poonam Dhillon and directed by Avnish Barjatya, son of renowned filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya. Dono marks the Bollywood debut of the second generation actors and directors. This romantic drama follows Dev (Rajveer) as he travels to Thailand for his best friend’s wedding who also happens to be his longtime crush. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Meghna, a friend of the groom, and finds himself enamored by her. The film intricately weaves a tale of love, friendship, and unforeseen twists, leaving audiences intrigued about the unfolding destinies of these characters.

The Curse (December 29) – Lionsgate Play

Emma Stone, known for her remarkable acting, received a nomination for ‘Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series, Drama’ for her role in ‘The Curse.’ A blend of comedy and thriller, the show unfolds the tale of Asher (Nathan Fielder) and Whitney (Emma Stone), a newlywed couple striving to construct an eco-friendly home in Española, New Mexico. Their plans face hurdles from a rumored curse and Dougie (Benny Safdie), a TV producer eyeing their story for a reality show. Tiger 3 (December 31) – Amazon Prime Videos

This pulse-pounding Indian action thriller Tiger 3 stormed onto screens, directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films. Featuring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi, this high-energy spectacle captivated audiences worldwide. Boasting a staggering global box office haul of ₹466.33 crore (US$58 million), the movie raced to claim its spot among the top five highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (December 26) – Netflix

This Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age drama directed by Arjun Varain Singh follows Ahana, Neil, and Imaad, three twenty-something friends navigating relationships and self-discovery in the digital era. They find solace in each other’s support while traversing the intricacies of relationships and embarking on a journey of self-discovery. The film, a directorial debut for Singh and co-written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, is produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, featuring Adarsh Gourav, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ananya Panday.
