From being naughty together to growing up together, celebrities share their best sibling memories, this Bhaidooj!

Anupama Solanki :

When I was child, we used to celebrate bhai dooj like raksha bandhan. But now, due to a busy lifestyle, I have not celebrated bhai dooj for the last 6,7 years. I used to talk on the phone with my brother and we would wish each other bhaidooj. Surprises are less now due to my shoot and my brother’s office work but I always feel excited for these festivals. I miss my childhood days and I feel very fortunate that I live that golden era.

Ayush Khatri :

I don’t have a sister, I have a younger brother. So, it’s my mom who ties me Rakhi and who does my tika and everything. So, for me, my mother is my mother as well as she is my sister. She takes care of both of the relationships so well. Till now, she even sends me that by courier and whenever I go, I make sure that I am carrying some beautiful gift for her. Even if I am not able to go, I make sure that I get something what she really likes, get delivered to home.

Rinku Ghosh :

Bhai Dooj has always been a family gathering with all cousins coming together. I have actually started a custom in my house; that is, I put Bhai Dooj tika and tie Rakhi to my Daadu (Nani’s brother) and then to all my cousin brothers. When I asked why all us sisters do this, my Nani said that since I was the first child in the house, I used to cry to put Bhai Dooj tika and tie Rakhi to someone. So, my Dadu said, ‘Okay, you tie Rakhi and put Bhai Dooj tikka on me.’ From that day, this custom started and has continued till date. First, my Nani puts Bhai Dooj tika on Daadu (her brother), and then all of us sisters follow, starting with me—a small, little ritual out of love.

Megha Sharma :

So, I am an only child, but I tie Rakhi to my first cousin and celebrate Bhai Dooj with him. I guess he is five years younger, so it’s always been fun. Once, he got lost on the day of Bhai Dooj. I remember this incident, and I’m more attached to him. He is also very attached to me. We thought he would come back, assuming he must be playing outside, but he didn’t. We searched for him, and all of us went to check on the terrace. Then, we saw that he had fallen asleep while reading a storybook, and the room was closed—the door shut due to the wind. That was very funny, and that day, I guess we celebrated Bhai Dooj around 12:30 pm. My sibling has always been very supportive. Despite being younger than me, he supports me a lot. He clicks pictures of me whenever I’m around, and even if I want to go shopping, he always comes along. Just when I got my first show, it was the same day that he also got a new job. So yes, we have faith in each other, and we share good vibes. We love each other.
