The makers of the much-anticipated bilingual saga “Dange/Por” recently dropped its trailer, where director Bejoy Nambiar, shared insights into the unconventional approach taken for this project during a press conference. In an era where films are often dubbed to cater to multiple languages, Bejoy Nambiar decided to break the mould by simultaneously shooting Dange and Por in both Hindi and Tamil.
During the press conference, Bejoy Nambiar stated, “The decision to shoot the film in both Hindi and Tamil simultaneously was driven by the desire to capture the true essence of the story and maintain the authenticity. By employing distinct casts for each language was an intricate process that required meticulous planning. This method involved shooting each scene twice – once with the Hindi cast and then with the Tamil cast, ensuring a seamless integration of both versions. I believe it has added a unique layer to the storytelling.”
The hard work, dedication, and synchronization invested in this process are put together for promising audiences a cinematic experience like never before.
“Dange” boasts a stellar cast of Harshvardhan Rane, Ehan Bhat, Nikita Dutta and TJ Bhanu. While the Tamil version “Por” stars Arjun Das, Kalidas Jayram, TJ Bhanu and Sanchana Natarajan. The film explores the intricate dynamics between two friends, whose paths diverge, igniting a fierce competition that takes center stage in the cultural festival of a college. Dange/Por will be out in theatres near you on 1st March 2024.
